Getting there

Goal: change from the current system to a better one.

Draft. This article puts earlier texts of this site into the new order of goals and observations. It has not been reworked yet and awaits the author's review. This goal is not worked out yet.

People are bad at sudden change. Even a change that is wanted in the long run is hard when it comes all at once. Going from no work to forty hours a week overnight is hard, even for someone who wants it.

Designing a system from scratch is different from transforming a running one. A system designed from scratch can be consistent. A system that is running, with people depending on it every day, has to be changed while it runs. A running system can also undo a change made too suddenly: the rescue of a sector in Acting on what is wanted is an example.
